We have just received confirmation from our second Keynote speaker!
Dr. Howard Hays is the Director of the Office of Information Technology for Indian Health Service (IHS), a major non-VA adopter of VISTA. Dr. Hays will discuss IHS’s version of VISTA, called RPMS; some of the improvements and advances his team has made over the past few years; and some of the challenges they faced being “downstream” from VA.

We are pleased to announce the first Keynote speaker for the 2012 VISTA Expo and Symposium!
Michael Mehaffy is a consultant, educator, and author in sustainable urban development. He is a long-time colleague of Christopher Alexander, and has expanded Dr. Alexander’s work on pattern language and the nature of order. He is an experienced public speaker, and we can’t wait to hear what he has to say.

Announcing the 2012 VISTA Expo and Symposium!
This year’s VISTA Expo and Symposium will be held September 11-14 at the Seattle Airport Marriott. Specific details, including programming tracks and keynote speakers, are still to be determined; however, we do have some preliminary pricing information.
Full event memberships will be $495, the same price as last year. This year, however, we will be offering a pre-registration discount rate of $395 for anyone who signs up before July 4, 2012. The hotel is offering its Government rate of $137 (plus applicable taxes) to all attendees, and, as with last year, the price includes in-room high-speed wireless Internet access.
Although the facility is different from last year’s, we are working with many of the same excellent Marriott staff to give our attendees a comparable experience. Convention registration will be available on our website soon, and we will link to hotel reservations when the hotel is ready to accept them.
Further details will be announced as our plans become finalized. We hope to see you in September!
